The photoshoooot

*CLICK CLICK CLICK* .. eyes are hurting.. can we stop now? *CLICK CLICK*.. ok now i just cannot smile anymore.. "how long is this going to take?" " This is the last shot" says the photographer... *CLICK CLICK CLICK* "ok we are done rite?".. * CLICK CLICK* "no one last shot, move that black thing will you? yes YOU.. tall man.. move to the back!.. yes head up.. smile .. No NO.. move closer please.. .. ok then.. SMILEEE! * CLICK CLICK CLICK*...... yes and im blind for lifeee!! * CLICK CLICK CLICK*... and so it went... this was a sneek preview of our never ending photoshoot that took place today at the Gulf News office!

For a person who is atrociously paranoid of having snaps taken, this was hell of an experience! How do models do it? The eternal smile, the perfect hair, the annoying lights, the crazy poses! Its crazy init? Or so i have concluded, with the photoshoot i had this morning.

It all started when one of my friends decided she needed to pick me out of the million +1 Indians available to her in this country!! Nopez, i do not mind really, else i wouldnt have gone for the shoot would i? Sigh.. ok.. so .. she called me up one day and told me that she was doing a story on expatriate youth.. bleh bleh. the rest was chinese to me.. and asked me if i would let her interview me.. ( ohhh kewl my brain thought) ... "yea sure thing... "ï said... "oh there's a photoshoot on Saturday, if you could come in for that to the office, there a bunch of others who will be joining ....!!!"... uh.. ( what???????? in my head!) .... uh.. "uh.. ok .. sure..." knowing that i am crazyyyyyyyyily paranoid about photographs being taken...!! Need to face your fears .. rite? So it happened...

Being an Indian, ironically, i was the first person to arrive at the venue! Then came a filippino, a pakistani, a lebanese, a sudanese.. quite a mix i say... it was nice meeting people from different parts of the world. All of them had been living here ( U.A.E) for quite a while... Incase you're wondering, I have been here all my life.... beggining day 42 of my life... studied here.. did my undergrad here.. working here.. and hopefully will NOT be doing my masters here! :) Ok so besides the point. We all gathered .... a whole 50 mins later than scheduled time... ( now is that surprising??)..and were taken into the studio...

Actually it was quite nice, if you subtract the eternal smile we had to paste on our faces and the bright lights blinding us for life!!! I got a chance to meet a whole mixed basket, if i may say so! :)
2 hours of clickety click and more clicks... and a lot of sighs.. and more sighs later, we were finally done!!! Hurrah... Thank you Mish.. for an experience of a lifetime.. at least now i know i shall never be a model!!!!! hehehe

But that wasnt the highlight of the day.. or not so much for me... The highlight for me was the few hours i spent with my friend after the photoshoot. I havent met her in agez... and well i had such a wonderful time having lunch and chit chatting with her. This woman utters her sentences at the speed of light..u miss out on something.. and ur gone! Kappooot.. dead meat! :) And so.. she calls for a lot of attention! :) Talking about our university days, our friends, our past, present and future, giggling away like 2 gals who inhaled helium.. was fun! ohhhhhhhhhh insight for the day.. never tell your boyfriend you have a headache.. !!! ( Mish if u read this.. u know why!) ... and for those of you who are slightly curious.. this is the explanation : once upon a time.. ( which is prolly sometime like last month) this gal complained to her boyfriend that she had a headache and so the boyfriend being the sweet guy asked her to have painkillers. The obedient gal that she was, ate some, while he had gone away for a bit. Guess what? this guy comes back to find his lady love kapoot on the table.. DEAD! ( ok its not funny.. but i just say it in a funny sorta way)... so people.. beware of headaches!!

having said that... i guess its time to end my first ever blog ....i shall .. will be back with more crazy stories soon! Until den... CLICK CLICK!! :)

Aaawww. Too cute. I love this blog alread ;-)
Fair warning - I am going to be stalking you for ever now through this being the sad little blog adding that I am :-D
Lol.
Anyway, I totally had a lovely time today as well and we should hang out more often. iA :-)
Also, the story about the headache is true...the girlfriend had a weird cell haemmhorage (can't spell the darn word, look it up elsewhere if you care!) So really, there is a moral to this story - Don't take you headaches lightly. In fact, my sharing of this brilliant piece of information now gives you perfect excuse to take a day off from work - "Its not a headache, boss (or bossette - must not be sexist!), it could be my imminent end!"
A round of applause if you please... :-P

Jalebi looks so yummy and i should give a try...I have a restaurant famous for indian sweets and specially for Jalebi. Our hot and super juicy Jalebis are not just delicious and flavorful but best in town. Made only after you place an order, our jalebis are prepared using pure Desi ghee.
